🟠 NEW ITEM ON THE TEXAS LIST: Owner of the motel just told me about the SPITTING ADDLER SNAKE she just saw. So I’ve added it to the running list of things people told me to watch out for in Texas.

She said the SPITTING ADDLER SNAKE behaves like a cobra (spreads its head and spits liquid 3 feet). Folks at the restaurant told me that wild hogs with horns (#12) are a real thing and a real problem. They told me to kick them hard if they charge me. I explained that it seemed like I should be fine riding on the road since there are often fences on either side. But they said they can make themselves flat and crawl under fences. Figures 😂

Fortunately I’m 2/3 of the way across Texas.
