So far it’s been really easy to find nice campgrounds. (Last night, when the campground learned about my ride for charity, they gave me the site for free). I use the “dyrt” app to find campgrounds. It gives all the info you need (including ratings and reviews). The dyrt app now works offline too so no cell service required (all data already downloaded into my phone). So far, there’s a campground for every distance…. meaning I can ride 10, 20, 30 or 40 miles depending on weather and energy level and find that there is a campground nearby. Once I get west of the Mississippi, I’ll be using an app that gives info on the HUGE number of free designated places to camp on BLM land. So things will get easier and less expensive once I cross the Mississippi. At that point, much of the time, all I’ll need are freeze dried meals (which I will have shipped to designated campgrounds along the way from REI) and water. #COASTtoCOASTbicycleride
