Last night at the campground, it was 700 RV’s and me in my tent. 😂 It was actually pretty quiet. Everyone goes to bed around eleven. My lightweight air mattress is HEAVEN. It’s like sleeping on a cloud and only weighs ounces. You do get a little dizzy blowing the damn thing up, but it’s so worth it. I also saved weight by not carrying a sleeping bag (for now). In this weather, a 4 oz. emergency blanket that measures only 2 inches by 4 inches by 1 inch thick when folded totally does the trick. (Plus, if you sleep with the foil side out, you achieve that “David Bowie on a camping trip” look). It only rained for an hour last night so I was eventually able to take the rain fly off and see the stars once the rain passed. This “being in nature” thing rocks. The freeze dried food was damn delicious last night after a long bike ride. I’m sure there are skeptics out there, but they’ve never had Mountain House Fettuccini with Chicken. #COASTtoCOASTbicycleride
